Cadence of Life is the latest CD from ELIJAHSounds (our own Elijah List record label), and the first "Instrumental Soaking" type of recording in the series. It's made up entirely of original songs (except one piece by Bach), written and performed by Aimee Herd, the Editor of Breaking Christian News. The songs are keyboard-based, with additions of other unique instruments such as Native American wind flutes, Irish Pennywhistles, various Wind Chimes ("from the backyard"), Ocean Drum and shakers. You can use this instrumental CD as a background for prayer, worship, or if you just need to wind-down after a busy day.

Regarding the album, Aimee says, "From the time I was a little girl listening to the 'Grand Canyon Suite' in my bedroom (on my record player), I have loved the way music can create pictures in our minds and hearts. As you listen, I pray that the Lord would use these songs to bring some peaceful and inspiring scenes to mind."

The eclectic song list includes: "Willamette Sunrise" and "Song on the Wind"-both a mix of keyboards and Irish pennywhistle; "Into the Blue"-with a cello-viola lead over ethereal-sounding keyboards. "Takenah Rain"-piano melodies create an illusion of raindrops over a background of a real Willamette Valley, Oregon spring rain. A fun interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach's "Prelude in C"-renamed "Bach as a Prayer." "Tohoku Intercession"-A song of memorial and prayer for the people of Japan who were impacted by the earthquake and tsunami that devastated the Tohoku region. "For Richard" is a song with piano and strings, dedicated to a loved one in Heaven. "Love Calls: Deep Unto Deep"-combines ethereal-sounding keyboards, piano and Native American Wind Flutes to represent the way God's love calls to us and we cry out to Him. And the recording ends with a simple piano-based closing refrain called "Cadence."
